Pay Rate: $36-39 per hour on a W2
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Digital Modeler to join a fast-paced design team. This role is responsible for developing high-fidelity 3D digital models for both interior and exterior designs that accurately communicate design intent.
The Digital Modeler will support digital model builds, determine the most effective tools and modeling techniques for each project, and apply strong knowledge of surface development to deliver accurate designs within project timelines and constraints. This position requires strong collaboration, technical problem-solving, and the ability to work across multiple departments and levels of the design organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-fidelity 3D digital models for interior and exterior designs that accurately communicate design intent.
- Support digital model builds by selecting the appropriate tools, techniques, and processes for accurate execution.
- Apply strong technical knowledge of surface development and digital modeling techniques.
- Utilize modeling and design tools such as Alias, Rhino, Blender, Gravity Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Collect, coordinate, interpret, and translate technical data across multiple departments and teams.
- Interpret technical documentation, including prints, engineering sections, hip zones, hard points, draft angles, part breakups, die lock conditions, and verification points.
- Troubleshoot complex design and modeling challenges while managing critical project schedules.
- Collaborate effectively with designers, engineers, and other cross-functional partners to achieve project goals.
- Adapt to changing project requirements, learn new tools and techniques, and adjust priorities as needed.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
- Work additional or adjusted hours as project demands require.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Minimum 1 year of industry experience.
- Proficiency in 3D digital modeling.
- Understanding of digital modeling, surface development, and techniques used to accurately execute design intent.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced, cross-functional design environment.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools, processes, and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Design or Industrial Design.
- Experience producing finished 3D digital designs to specification.
- Experience with Alias, Rhino, Blender, Gravity Sketch, AI-assisted modeling tools, or similar 3D modeling software.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with digital setups, values, and procedures used to deliver surface data quickly and accurately.
- Ability to interpret technical and engineering documentation, including:
- Engineering sections
- Hip zones
- Hard points
- Draft angles
- Part breakups
- Die lock conditions
- Verification points
- Ability to manage changing priorities and critical project timelines.
- Strong leadership qualities, work ethic, communication skills, and collaborative approach.
