The New Jersey Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee (DACC) seeks creative, motivated, and highly organized individuals to serve as Legislative District Digital Organizers for the 2027 election cycle. With all 40 New Jersey legislative districts holding elections for the State Senate and General Assembly in 2027, DACC is recruiting Digital Organizers to support competitive Democratic legislative campaigns statewide. Digital Organizers will work as part of a team supporting multiple legislative candidates within an assigned district. Depending on the campaign's structure, staffing, and electoral priorities, the position may involve working with one or more candidates for the New Jersey State Senate and/or General Assembly. Campaign structures and staffing levels will vary by district.

Successful applicants will develop and maintain an active, consistent, and engaging digital presence across campaign social media platforms. This includes creating and publishing original content daily, capturing and editing photos and videos, monitoring online conversations, responding to voter inquiries, and supporting the campaign's broader communications and organizing activities. The ideal candidate is creative, comfortable using social media and digital content tools, able to produce high-quality content on tight deadlines, and able to manage multiple accounts and projects with minimal supervision. This is a hands-on position requiring someone who can independently create content, not simply develop ideas or coordinate with outside vendors.

Previous professional campaign experience is not required. We encourage individuals with relevant experience in social media management, digital communications, content creation, or video production to apply.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media Management and Digital Presence
  • Manage and maintain active campaign social media accounts across relevant platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, and other emerging platforms as appropriate.
  • Create, schedule, and publish original social media content daily to maintain a consistent, professional digital presence.
  • Develop and maintain content calendars aligned with campaign priorities, candidate schedules, community events, and election deadlines.
  • Adapt content for different platforms, audiences, and formats, including posts, stories, reels, short-form videos, and other digital materials.
  • Monitor social media activity, engagement, and platform performance, providing regular updates and recommendations to campaign leadership.
Content Creation and Video Production
  • Independently create digital content, including social media graphics, short-form videos, photographs, captions, and other campaign materials.
  • Capture photos and video footage of candidates at campaign events, community activities, canvasses, and other public appearances.
  • Edit short-form videos for social media using tools such as CapCut, Descript, Sora, Canva, Adobe Express, or comparable editing software.
  • Create visually consistent content using campaign branding, approved messaging, and established communications guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities to repurpose speeches, interviews, event footage, and other campaign materials into engaging digital content.
  • Produce and publish timely content in response to campaign developments, events, and emerging communications needs.
Digital Engagement and Voter Communication
  • Monitor comments, direct messages, mentions, and other interactions across campaign social media accounts.
  • Engage with voters, volunteers, and community members on social media by responding to routine questions and directing more complex inquiries to appropriate campaign staff.
  • Identify and elevate important voter questions, community concerns, and emerging online conversations to campaign leadership.
  • Support online promotion of campaign events, volunteer opportunities, voter registration information, and election-related activities.
  • Work with campaign staff to ensure digital communications are accurate, timely, professional, and consistent with approved messaging.
Campaign Coordination and Digital Operations
  • Coordinate with candidates, campaign leadership, and field staff to identify daily content opportunities and maintain an organized content production schedule.
  • Attend campaign events, canvass launches, community activities, and candidate appearances to capture content and provide digital coverage.
  • Maintain organized digital files, including photos, videos, graphics, content calendars, and approved campaign materials.
  • Track content performance and engagement metrics to help evaluate the effectiveness of the campaign's organic social media activities.
  • Assist with digital communications projects, including email newsletters, event promotions, website updates, and other online outreach activities as needed.
  • Support campaign field and GOTV activities during critical election periods, including occasional direct voter contact and volunteer activities.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on campaign needs, staffing, and district priorities.
