Job Description

As our Executive Chairman, Bill Ford himself states, "When we race, we race to win". At Ford Racing, this is our core philosophy as we race toward the 2030's. We pride ourselves on being a technical leader in the industry, developing the most innovative tools and methodologies. As Ford Racing continues to grow and expand our team to better support the various automotive racing series we compete in, we need people like YOU to help us achieve our goals together!

In this position...

This position will be responsible for updating, developing and maintaining our entire Ford Racing library of DiL simulator tracks to ensure they match the real world as closely as possible. We're looking for a bright and self-motivated individual to help catapult our DiL (Driver in the Loop) simulator program to the next level, where a single tool can be used to support all our racing programs (ie. NASCAR, SportsCar, WRC, Off-Road, Electrified Demonstrators, etc.), as well as our production car programs (ie. Mustang, Raptor, etc.). This position will be responsible for updating, developing and maintaining our entire library of DiL simulator tracks to ensure they match the real world as closely as possible. This opportunity is a golden ticket for periodic travel to the various racing circuits and testing facilities across the country to collect first-hand information and apply your learnings digitally to our simulator tracks.

Ability to travel

We made history and now we work to transform the future - for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

What You'll Do…

  • Collect Information: Work directly with sanctioning bodies of our various race series, track & facilities management, and travel to locations as needed to collect information which will be used to improve the accuracy of our simulator tracks library.

  • Utilize & Develop CAE Tools: Utilize commercially available and proprietary tools to implement learnings directly to our tracks libraries. Contribute to the development and maintenance of our DiL Simulator track manipulation tools, continuously adding capability and efficiency to the process.

  • Close the Gap Between the Real World and Simulation: Understand the unique physical aspects of vehicles and develop solutions to replicate those attributes in the simulation environment.

  • Documentation: Maintain a database for our library of tracks, organize and archive supporting documentation in a logical manner for efficient user access.

  • Team Player: Work directly with colleagues from our various divisions to help tie together the individual components (ie. Aero, Powertrain, Chassis, Race Team Strategy, etc.) which comprise a successful simulator program.
