Dimension Control Technician 3 - Onsite | Palmdale, CA
[About the Role]
Join Indotronix as a Dimension Control Technician 3 in our dynamic Tooling department, supporting advanced manufacturing operations in Palmdale, CA. This hands-on, onsite role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge tooling and metrology equipment in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. With a 4x10 schedule (Monday-Thursday), you'll have three-day weekends to enjoy a strong work-life balance while contributing your expertise to high-impact projects.
[Responsibilities]
- Lay out, fabricate, and assemble complex jigs, fixtures, tool masters, and gauges with precise alignment and tolerances.
- Interpret tool design drawings and plan operational sequences for both standard and nonstandard tooling.
- Set up and operate precision optical instruments to verify assembly alignment and fit.
- Develop and design holding devices, jig, and fixture details for production use.
- Prepare shop drawings and operational sequences to guide parts fabrication and assembly.
- Document inspection results and monitor quality using established control procedures.
- Identify dimensional nonconformances and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for dimensional issues.
- Prioritize tasks to meet production schedules and support continuous process improvement.
[Required Skills and Experience]
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in dimensional inspection, tooling, metrology, or related manufacturing environments.
- Proficient in reading engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
- Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, and other inspection tools.
- Experience with dimensional layouts, checks, and verification of parts, tools, and assemblies.
- Strong documentation and clear communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently from written and verbal instructions.
- Effective collaboration with fabrication, machining, assembly, quality, and engineering teams.
[Preferred Skills]
- Advanced knowledge in geometric tolerancing and datum structures.
- Experience supporting root cause analysis and process improvements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain relevant certifications or internal qualifications.
