Job Summary: Dimension Control Technician 3 (Onsite, Secret Clearance) - Palmdale, CA
About the Role
Join Indotronix as a Dimension Control Technician 3 in Palmdale, CA. Play a critical part in shaping aerospace innovation by fabricating, assembling, and validating complex tooling and jigs that drive mission-critical projects. This is a 12+ month contract position supporting advanced manufacturing with the opportunity to work hands-on with leading-edge metrology technology in a secure, team-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Lay out, fabricate, and assemble major jigs, fixtures, tool masters, and gauges for high-complexity aerospace components
- Interpret tool design drawings to plan and execute work, establishing precise reference points and tolerances
- Set up and operate optical instruments to verify alignment and fit of assemblies
- Develop and design holding devices and details for jigs and fixtures
- Prepare operational sequences and shop drawings for fabrication and assembly by others
- Monitor and verify quality using statistical process controls and data analysis
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Tool Design teams
- Support production engineering with data collection, analysis, and validation/verification efforts
Required Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years' experience using Computer-Aided Measurement Systems (C.A.M.S.), laser tracking interferometer systems (FARO, LEICA)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Skilled in data collection, analysis, and technical communication with multidisciplinary teams
- Able to operate on 1st (5 am - 3:30 pm) or 2nd shift (4:12 pm - 2:42 am), Monday-Thursday
- Capable of working at heights and lifting objects over 35 lbs; able to stand for extended periods
- Must hold an active DoD Secret clearance; ability to obtain and maintain program special access
- Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with laser trackers, articulated arms, scanners, and 6DoF metrology systems
- Proficient in computer-aided graphic interfaces (Verisurf X, SA and Maya Matrix, Build!IT, Polyworks)
- Strong ability to analyze metrology data against computer models
- Familiarity with integrated air frame and aero structure systems
