Dimensional Inspection Team Lead (Precision Manufacturing)

Your mission

Picture this: a critical component for a Defense or Nuclear application is on your bench. Tolerances are unforgiving. You orchestrate the inspection plan, program the CMM, validate features with micrometers and comparators, and coach a teammate through an AS9102-compliant first article. By day’s end, the report is complete, nonconformances are addressed with production, and the path to a better process is documented. If that scenario energizes you, let’s talk.

Who we are

Accurate Marking & Manufacturing (AM&M), based in New Kensington, PA, has engineered precision solutions since 1968, serving sectors including Defense, Nuclear, Pump/Hydraulic, Robotics, and beyond. Our employees-first philosophy, flat structure, and sustained growth have built a high-morale, low-turnover environment where great ideas move fast.

How you’ll contribute

  • Lead the inspection function—assign work, mentor team members, and reinforce rigorous procedures.
  • Program/operate manual and CNC CMMs to perform exacting dimensional checks.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specs, and blueprints to confirm compliance.
  • Apply advanced metrology—micrometers, calipers, gauges, and Mitutoyo optical comparators—plus CMM software analysis.
  • Perform first-article inspections (AS9102), in-process verification, and final audits.
  • Document and investigate nonconformances; collaborate with operations on corrective actions.
  • Produce thorough records and inspection reports that meet ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
  • Promote a safe, orderly workspace and drive continuous improvement for efficiency and throughput.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • 3–5+ years in manufacturing inspection with demonstrated manual/CNC CMM mastery.
  • Team leadership experience—supervision, mentoring, and workload planning.
  • Uncompromising attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Blueprint proficiency and metrology software know-how (PC-DMIS preferred).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; ASQ Certified Quality Inspector is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dedication to safety and quality in a fast-paced setting.
