Dimensional Quality Inspector – Manufacturing

About the opportunity

Join a manufacturing team in Athens, AL as a Dimensional Quality Inspector through an evaluation-to-hire path with potential for full-time placement. You will be the on-the-floor authority who verifies that every part meets print and process expectations before it moves forward.

A day in the life

When you arrive, you review the day’s production priorities and pull the latest prints with GD&T callouts. You verify critical-to-quality features using a steel scale, digital calipers, a digital micrometer, and a torque wrench. You approve parts that meet spec, reject any that do not, and immediately document each measurement in the quality database. You keep an eye out for abnormalities, escalate issues, and collaborate with the team to correct them. You follow equipment operating instructions, maintain calibration, and request timely repairs to keep measurement tools in top condition. Throughout the day, you uphold company safety procedures and applicable regulations, and you use KPIs to drive continuous improvement.

What you bring

• Previous experience in manufacturing quality inspection
• Hands-on skill with a steel scale, digital caliper, digital micrometer, and torque wrench
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T tolerances
• Solid grasp of inspection methods, processes, and procedures
• Plus: familiarity with SPC, Gage R&R, or Six Sigma
• Plus: experience operating a Faro Portable CMM
• Proven capability to verify dimensions and confirm specifications
• Confidence to identify and reject nonconforming product
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation habits
• Comfort thriving in a fast-paced production environment

Core responsibilities

• Inspect and approve products by confirming specifications and performing dimensional measurements; reject nonconforming parts
• Record results in reports, logs, and the quality database
• Maintain measurement equipment by following operating instructions, observing calibration requirements, and initiating repairs promptly
• Promote a safe, healthy workplace by following company standards, procedures, and applicable legal regulations
• Complete all required documentation, records, and reports
• Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures
• Proactively and reactively identify and resolve process abnormalities
• Use key performance indicators to support continuous improvement
• Perform other duties as assigned
