Lambs Farm may be the place for you.SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Direct Support Professional to join our Day Services team. In this hands-on role, you will support adults with developmental disabilities as they participate in creative arts, life enrichment activities, retirement programming, and community experiences designed to promote independence and personal growth.Reporting to Day Services leadership, you will facilitate engaging daily programming and transportation needs while implementing individualized supports that help participants build confidence, learn new skills, and pursue meaningful experiences. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact while working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.The RoleFacilitate engaging activities within Quest programs, LF Studios, employment, and retirement services that encourage creativity, learning, and social engagementSupport participants in exploring new interests through art, yoga, computer learning, wellness activities, and other hands-on experiencesImplement individualized service plans that promote independence, personal growth, and achievement of participant goalsProvide direct support and guidance while encouraging self-advocacy and skill developmentAssist participants with daily activities and support needs while maintaining dignity and person-centered practicesFacilitate community integration through field trips, volunteer opportunities, recreational activities, and other community-based experiencesTransport and accompany participants to community outings, appointments, and activities as neededObserve participant progress and communicate relevant information to supervisors and interdisciplinary team membersCollaborate with families, healthcare providers, and internal teams to ensure coordinated participant supportMaintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and required program recordsFollow agency policies, safety procedures, and participant support protocolsContribute to a positive, inclusive, and engaging program environment that celebrates participant successTravel locally (approximately 25-50%) to support community-based programming and participant activitiesQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredSuccessful completion of the CASAS assessmentValid driver's license from Illinois, Indiana, or WisconsinAbility to obtain PACE Driver Certification within 30 days of hireExperience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred but not requiredStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationshipsEmotional maturity, patience, and a commitment to person-centered supportAbility to work effectively as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary teamCultural sensitivity and respect for individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilitiesBasic computer skills and ability to learn agency software systemsAbility to lift, transfer, and assist participants as needed, including lifting up to 50 poundsStrong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and daily responsibilitiesAbility to adapt to changing participant needs and program prioritiesCompensationThe hourly rate for this role is $18.00 per hourDisclaimer: As part of the pre-employment process, all employees at Lambs Farm are required to successfully complete background and registry checks and medical screenings.
