Are you compassionate, dependable, and passionate about helping others? The Arc Otsego is seeking dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence and living fulfilling lives.

As a DSP, you'll provide hands-on assistance with daily activities, encourage personal growth, and help individuals participate in meaningful experiences at home and in their communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.

• Encourage independence, personal choice, and participation in community activities.

• Implement individualized support plans and assist individuals in achieving their personal goals.

• Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings using agency vehicles.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.

• Assist with medication administration when properly trained and certified.

• Support individuals through behavioral challenges using positive approaches and approved intervention techniques.

• Complete accurate daily documentation and maintain confidentiality.

• Communicate effectively with individuals, families, coworkers, and supervisors.

• Participate in required training and staff meetings.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Valid New York State driver's license.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

• Compassionate, patient, and dependable attitude.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
