Position Snapshot  

Location: Winston-Salem, NC 

Schedule: Part-time and Full-time| weekdays | day and evening shifts

Pay: $12-18/hour 

Work Setting: On-site, in home and travel within the local community to meet the needs of the consumer you would be supporting

Do you want work that makes a meaningful difference in your community? Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join our Individual and Community Services  team in Winston-Salem.  

As a Direct Support Professional, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful connections with the individuals you support every day. We work with people of all ages and abilities and carefully match each consumer with team members whose skills, personality, and interests are the best fit. We believe the right match creates stronger relationships, better support, and more rewarding experiences for both our consumers and our staff. Every day is a chance to make someone's day a little brighter! In this role, you'll support individuals in their homes and communities, helping them build independence, achieve personal goals, and enjoy meaningful experiences.

What You’ll Do  

• Support the consumer with personal care needs and companionship    

• Document daily activities and goals met in an electronic format  

• Coordinate and collaborate with the family of the consumer to work on goals that promote independence, socialization and overall personal development 

What You Bring  

We’re looking for someone who brings the experience, skills, and commitment needed to succeed in this role.  

• High school diploma or equivalent required  

• Valid North Carolina Driver’s license, reliable transportation and vehicle insurance required 

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred, but not required.  

• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are a must!
