Advanced Underground Inc. is looking for a skilled Directional Drill Operator to join our growing team in Hamilton, OH. Responsibilities:

• Operate horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment safely and efficiently on job sites
• Read and interpret bore plans, utility maps, and site drawings to execute accurate directional bores
• Monitor drilling fluid (mud) systems and adjust parameters to maintain optimal boring conditions
• Coordinate with locating technicians to track drill head position and avoid utility conflicts
• Perform pre-operation inspections, routine maintenance, and minor repairs on drill rigs and related equipment
• Follow all OSHA safety standards, company protocols, and site-specific safety requirements
• Communicate effectively with crew members, foremen, and project supervisors throughout daily operations

Requirements:

• Proven experience operating directional drilling or HDD equipment in the field
• Knowledge of underground utility installation, boring techniques, and soil conditions
• Ability to read bore logs, utility plans, and site maps
• Familiarity with drilling fluid mixing and mud recycling systems
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work in varying outdoor conditions
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate clearly on active job sites
