    CONFIDENTIAL RETAINED SEARCH

    Director Global Supply Chain

Build the system. Turn demand into delivery.

Lean Six Search is leading a confidential retained search for a Director of Global Supply Chain who can connect commercial demand, planning, manufacturing, inventory, logistics, and customer delivery into one operating system. This is an opportunity for a supply chain leader who wants to build the playbook, establish the cadence, and make global performance visible, measurable, and repeatable.

The successful leader will lead US Supply Chain directly while building the team and capability required to support the rest of the world. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will have a direct impact on working capital, on-time delivery, cost, forecast quality, and the utilization of a global manufacturing network.

    The opportunity

Supply chain is where the commercial promise meets operational reality. Demand can be strong, capacity can exist, and customers can be ready, but without planning discipline, inventory visibility, forecast accuracy, and logistics control, the business pays for it somewhere.

This leader will bring the pieces together. The mandate is to create a supply chain model that improves customer service and cash at the same time: making better decisions about what to produce, where to produce it, how much inventory to hold, how to use internal assets, and when external manufacturing makes sense.

If you are looking for a role where the process is already perfect and every spreadsheet has a home, this may not be the one. If you enjoy turning a collection of moving parts into a system that people can trust, there is a lot here to get your teeth into.

What you will build and lead

Design, build, and lead a global Supply Chain organization, leading the US team directly and hiring and developing the capability required across the rest of the world.

Develop and execute supply chain strategies that improve on-time delivery, inventory, and cost by fully using the global manufacturing footprint and external manufacturing where required.

Strengthen S&OP, S&OE, forecasting, and asset-utilization visibility, including the establishment of appropriate safety stocks across markets.

Create consistent demand-forecasting methodologies with commercial teams using historical volumes, market trends, and product promotions.

Own the continuous improvement of the S&OE process, establishing a robust weekly cadence and sustained adoption across plant and commercial teams.

Develop local planning talent to improve plant scheduling, inventory management, and asset utilization.

Map and optimize the logistics network to improve customer service while reducing unnecessary freight cost and complexity.

Improve master data management and lead SKU rationalization so the organization can make decisions using clean, trusted information.

    The early agenda

The successful candidate will shape the detailed roadmap, but the early focus is likely to include:

Creating a shared view of demand, supply, inventory, capacity, assets, and customer commitments.

Establishing a disciplined S&OP and S&OE rhythm that connects commercial, planning, plant, and leadership teams.

Diagnosing forecast error, safety-stock settings, inventory value, and the causes of service misses.

Balancing internal manufacturing capacity with external options to improve service, cost, and asset utilization.

Building the organization, planning capability, and bench strength required for global scale.

    How success will be measured

This role will be judged by operating outcomes, not the number of meetings on the calendar. The scorecard will center on:

On-time delivery, measured against both promised and requested dates

Days inventory outstanding and total inventory value

Forecast error and the quality of demand visibility

In-house asset utilization across the manufacturing network

The leader we are looking for

You are a global supply chain leader who can move comfortably between the executive agenda and the detail of a production schedule, inventory position, or customer commitment. You understand that the best supply chain strategy is only useful when the plants, commercial teams, and planners can actually run it every week.

You will bring the credibility to challenge assumptions, the commercial judgment to make trade-offs, and the operating discipline to turn those decisions into habits. You are pace-setting and decisive, but you also know that sustainable improvement comes from bringing people with you, not simply announcing a new process and hoping it survives Monday morning.

The strongest candidates are likely to bring:

Significant global leadership experience across supply chain, planning, manufacturing, or operations.

A proven record of designing or building a high-performing supply chain organization.

Evidence of leading successful inventory-reduction efforts without creating new service problems elsewhere.

A track record of improving demand forecast accuracy and turning forecast insight into better operating decisions.

A genuine commitment to developing people, strengthening local capability, and creating bench strength.

Experience implementing digital supply chain tools, dashboards, network maps, forecasting tools, or other systems that improve visibility and decision-making.

Private equity or sponsor-backed experience, while not essential, would be valuable.

    Why this role is different

This is not a seat at the end of the chain waiting for problems to arrive. It is a chance to architect how the business converts demand into production, production into delivery, and delivery into cash. The work will be visible because the results will show up everywhere: in customer conversations, inventory levels, plant performance, freight spend, and the confidence with which leaders make decisions.

For the right person, this is a rare chance to build a global supply chain function with real operational consequence. You will help create the rhythm, team, tools, and standards that allow a growing organization to stop reacting to surprises and start seeing them early enough to do something about them.
