Wisconsin Lutheran Colleges School of Education seeks candidates for a director of the Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) program. The position would begin January 1, 2027.

This role is responsible for maintaining a strong, mission-aligned graduate program while actively advancing enrollment, partnerships, licensure pathways, dual credit opportunities, professional development, and other initiatives that strengthen the long-term sustainability of graduate education at WLC.

The director should be a relational, organized, and growth-minded leader who can support current students and faculty while also identifying, developing, and championing new opportunities for program growth and impact.

A masters degree or higher from an accredited institution is required. Experience in educational administration and principal licensure is preferred, as is urban education experience.

Primary responsibilities fall into three areas:

    • Licensure and completion oversight
    • Teaching and faculty coordination

Candidates must be an active member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS), or another confessional Lutheran denomination in fellowship with the WELS. You may contact the Office of the Provost (provost@wlc.edu) regarding questions on the call process. Individuals may also self-nominate for this position.

Qualified candidates should send a cover letter discussing background, interests, and teaching philosophy in the context of a confessional Lutheran liberal arts college; curriculum vitae; and three letters of recommendation, including one letter from their pastor, discussing personal qualities via email to the Office of the Provost (provost@wlc.edu). Review of candidates will continue until a divine call has been issued and accepted and the position is filled.
