Director of Engineering

Position Overview

Join a leading aviation repair organization in Gilbert, AZ, within the aerospace industry. We are seeking a strategic leader to guide our engineering and manufacturing teams, focusing on aircraft repair development and ensuring adherence to FAA regulations and aerospace standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering and technical teams.
• Oversee aircraft repair development, product design, testing, and production release.
• Manage engineering projects, budgets, resources, and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with FAA Part 145 regulations and aerospace quality standards.
• Oversee engineering drawings, GD&T, material specifications, and revision control.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and customers to resolve technical issues.
• Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• 5 years of aviation/aerospace technical experience.
• 3 years managing engineering or technical teams.
• Experience with aircraft repair development, manufacturing, and engineering processes.
• Knowledge of FAA Part 145 regulations and aerospace compliance.
• Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and PDM workflows.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, materials, testing, and aircraft systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• DER repair/design experience.
• Aerospace component repair experience.
• Experience supporting regulatory and customer audits.
