Qualifications and responsibilities for this Director of Engineering position include:

• Bachelor's degree or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline required, with 15+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience, including complex equipment development from concept through production.
• Proven experience leading engineering projects, providing technical direction, and mentoring engineers or multidisciplinary teams, preferably within heavy equipment, oilfield equipment, industrial machinery, or energy technology.
• Proficiency in a major 3D CAD platform such as SolidWorks, Creo, Solid Edge, or NX, with strong knowledge of mechanical design, structural components, GD&T, material selection, and design for manufacturability.
• Hands-on experience with machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, castings, mechanical assemblies, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing-floor troubleshooting.
• Lead engineering priorities, new product development, equipment upgrades, and manufacturing support for large trenching equipment, overseeing projects from concept and design through validation, production release, and field implementation.
• Perform and oversee engineering calculations, 3D modeling, design reviews, and engineering analysis, including FEA and CFD where appropriate, while maintaining drawings, BOMs, engineering changes, and assembly documentation.
• Collaborate closely with machinists, fabricators, mechanics, drafting personnel, suppliers, and project management to resolve production challenges, investigate equipment failures, and improve reliability, performance, serviceability, and cost.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, communicate project progress and technical risks to company leadership, and develop rugged equipment solutions for harsh operating environments; experience with electromechanical equipment and sensor integration is preferred.

Salary: $200,000 - $240,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
