    Director of Finance

    About the job


    This individual contributes to company wide initiatives and efforts set forth to enhance company culture and vision for all employees. The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing a team that produces, or individually produces as needed, monthly financial reporting, reconciling bank statements, coordinating, administering, and controlling all financial operations, optimizing cash flow, and mitigating financial risk for the company. The Director of Finance works closely with members of leadership to advise on opportunities to maximize company profitability from all perspectives.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Oversees the Accounting Department, including day-to-day general ledger activities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, payroll, and month end closing procedures.

    Oversees team member(s) conducting payroll activities, including payroll certification through DIR/ LCP tracker, filing weekly payroll taxes.

    Works with vendors to administer employee benefits, including 401k and ESOP participation.

    Overseas purchasing department responsible for purchasing all field materials, including employee trucks in alignment with budgets.

    Works directly with the estimating and project management departments to ensure accuracy of data input for new job contracts, cost codes, associated costs and updates resulting from change orders and billings into the accounting system. Conducts monthly meetings with project managers if needed.

    Produces monthly financial reports, including the WIP report which is also balanced to monthly financial reports. Produces weekly updated 13-week cash flow projection. Overseas cash flow management and reports to BOD on monthly basis (or requested frequency).

    Processes month-end close activities.

    Generates and reconciles annual budgets by department and for the entire company.

    Creates five-year forecast and updates on an annual basis.

    Maintains documentation required for Union reporting.

    Runs worker compensation annual audits.

    Reviews and renews annual insurance policies.

    Provides all financial records required by CPA for annual tax filing and review of Financial Statements; works with CPA to prepare monthly sales tax prepayments and quarterly sales tax filing w/ payments.

    Compiles documentation required for annual ESOP valuation and submission.

    Additional Duties

    Ensures each department completes required safety sheets, and timely submission to field labor in a timely manner.

    Provides Current Employment Statistics and Owner Controlled Insurance Program reports as needed.

    Oversees employee gas card expenditures process.

    Oversees FasTrak account and works as liaison with the company.

    Conducts Human Resources responsibilities as needed such as new employee onboarding, maintaining the Bamboo HR system, employee time off requests and general HR questions.

    Qualifications:

    Ability to guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies & procedures.

    Able to protect assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls.

    Provide a visionary and leadership implementation role on behalf of Finance and Human Resources

    Ability to assist in development and execution of annual and departmental budget and forecasting.

    Ability to lead and manage staff within all regulatory requirements.

    Must be willing and able to work within a team environment in a leadership role.

    Keep good relations with other departments and Managers.

    Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet and Outlook email.

    Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills are a must.

    Bachelors Degree and minimum five years in related work experience.
