    As Director of Human Resources at New Story, you will lead people strategies that support growth, strengthen culture, and enhance the employee experience, while partnering with leadership to align talent initiatives with business goals. This Virginia-based role is dedicated to supporting Rivermont Schools, ensuring HR programs and practices meet the unique needs of those teams, foster a positive workplace environment, and drive organizational success.

    This is a hybrid role that must reside in the state of Virginia

    What You’ll Need

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field

    • Minimum 7 years of HR generalist experience partnering with senior leadership

    • Experience leading and developing HR teams

    • Deep knowledge of employment laws and compliance requirements

    • Strong business acumen with excellent communication and problem-solving skills

    What You’ll Do

    • Partner with leadership to design and execute HR strategies aligned to business goals

    • Lead talent planning, including employee development and succession strategies

    • Oversee performance management and coach leaders to drive accountability and growth

    • Ensure compliance with all employment laws and conduct regular HR process audits

    • Foster a positive culture through employee engagement, relations, and retention initiatives

    • Travel to our Rivermont campuses throughout the state
