CYTENA is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Marketing to lead marketing activities for our Business Unit Lab Instruments across CYTENA and DISPENDIX. This role will drive marketing strategy, demand generation, product marketing, and commercial growth initiatives across North America and global markets.

Reporting to senior business leadership, the Director of Marketing will build and develop a high-performing marketing team while partnering closely with Sales, Product Management, Applications, and Corporate Marketing. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with operational excellence and has a proven track record of driving growth in life science, laboratory technology, biotechnology, medical device, or related B2B environments.

This position can be based in the Greater Boston area or performed remotely within the United States, with regular travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Business Unit marketing team across CYTENA and DISPENDIX.
• Develop and execute the annual marketing strategy, business plans, and budget aligned with commercial growth objectives.
• Drive demand generation through integrated marketing campaigns, digital marketing programs, scientific events, webinars, content marketing, and customer advocacy initiatives.
• Define product positioning, messaging, value propositions, and go-to-market strategies in collaboration with Product Management and Sales.
• Lead commercial marketing support for new product introductions and product launches.
• Partner with Sales leadership to improve lead generation, lead conversion, customer engagement, and pipeline development.
• Develop and implement sales enablement programs, tools, and content to support revenue growth.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize marketing performance through KPIs, pipeline metrics, campaign analytics, and ROI measurement.
• Utilize customer insights, market intelligence, and competitive analysis to inform marketing strategy and investment decisions.
• Collaborate with Corporate Marketing, CRM, Digital Marketing, Web, and Creative teams to ensure effective execution and brand consistency.
• Build strong relationships across Sales, Product Management, Service, Applications, and Leadership teams.
• Represent Marketing in cross-functional and global business initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, Communications, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
• 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, including leadership responsibility, preferably within life sciences, biotechnology, laboratory instrumentation, medical technology, or a related B2B technology sector.
• Demonstrated success leading and developing marketing teams in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
• Strong experience in demand generation, product marketing, commercial marketing, go-to-market planning, and sales enablement.
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic marketing plans that drive measurable business results.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing, marketing automation, CRM systems, content strategy, events, and customer engagement programs.
• Ability to translate complex scientific and technical concepts into compelling customer-focused messaging.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience working effectively in cross-functional and global organizations.
• Professional fluency in English required.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Compensation and Benefits: The base salary range for this position is $129, 350-$161,696.00. Benefits include 401K with company match, PTO, Health Benefits, Investment in Professional and Personal Development, and much more.
