    Director of Preconstruction in Oklahoma City, OK

    • $160,000+ Salary
    • Direct Hire / Full-Time
    • On-Site
    • Occasional travel required, primarily throughout the Oklahoma City metro area with some domestic travel
    • Seeking local candidates or candidates that are willing to relocate to the OKC Metro area

    We are seeking an accomplished Director of Preconstruction to lead and grow a regional preconstruction department while driving strategic planning, client engagement, estimating excellence, and team development. This executive-level leadership role will oversee all regional preconstruction operations, ensuring successful project pursuits, accurate estimating, strong client relationships, and the effective deployment of resources across multiple projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the overall management, direction, and growth of the regional preconstruction department
    • Serve as a brand ambassador and trusted advisor to clients, industry partners, and stakeholders
    • Develop and maintain long-term client and subcontractor relationships
    • Create and execute project strategies that support successful project delivery and business objectives
    • Manage preconstruction and estimating resources, schedules, workloads, and budgets
    • Review major pricing components on all bids and ensure estimating accuracy
    • Oversee value management initiatives and ensure timely implementation of cost-saving solutions
    • Direct purchasing efforts and support bid-day execution for successful project outcomes
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, prequalification standards, and guiding principles
    • Attend monthly project status review meetings and ensure timely completion of project reporting requirements
    • Coordinate staffing needs and optimize resource allocation across regional projects
    • Lead recruiting, hiring, mentoring, training, and professional development initiatives for the preconstruction team
    • Conduct quarterly performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and leadership to direct reports
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
    • 18+ years of construction industry experience
    • Extensive experience leading preconstruction, estimating, and client-facing project planning efforts
    • Strong conceptual estimating and budget management expertise
    • Deep understanding of construction operations, logistics, procurement, and project delivery
    • Ability to read drawings and specifications, develop quantity takeoffs, and evaluate estimates
    • Proficiency with Autodesk software and estimating/takeoff platforms
    • Strong networking presence and reputation within the construction community
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and team-building skills
    • Strong business acumen with the ability to drive strategic initiatives and positive project outcomes
