Title: Director of Production

Description: The Director of Production provides strategic and technical leadership for the College's enterprise audio, video, lighting, and broadcast systems, ensuring reliable, high-quality production support for academic, athletic, performing arts, and institutional events. This position is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and lifecycle management of campus-wide live streaming, recording, hybrid event, and AV infrastructure, while establishing technical standards and best practices for classrooms, performance venues, and event spaces.
The Director serves as the College's lead expert in broadcast technology, professional audio systems, video production, lighting integration, and AV-over-IP technologies, working collaboratively with Information Technology Services, Athletics, Media Services, Music, Theatre, and other campus partners to deliver innovative production solutions.
In addition to providing technical leadership for major campus events such as Commencement, concerts, theatrical performances, athletic broadcasts, and institutional productions, the Director supervises the Video Production Manager and student employees, fostering a collaborative learning environment and preparing students with current production technologies and industry best practices. The position also oversees equipment planning and replacement, vendor relationships, production safety, and venue technology planning while supporting campus renovation projects involving audio, video, lighting, rigging, and control systems. The Director is expected to contribute to cross-functional ITS initiatives and work flexible evening and weekend hours as required to support campus events.
Requirements: A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience is required, along with demonstrated expertise in enterprise AV, broadcast, and live production environments. The successful candidate will have experience designing and supporting professional audio, video, streaming, and lighting systems; managing production teams; and working with technologies such as Allen & Heath digital audio consoles, Blackmagic ATEM systems, vMix, Wirecast, Vimeo, Canon cinema and PTZ cameras, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft 365, and drafting software such as AutoCAD or Vectorworks. Experience with theatrical rigging, production safety, vendor management, project coordination, troubleshooting complex AV systems, and delivering exceptional customer service is highly desirable. Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills are essential.
