Job Description: Safety Manager
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and oversee all safety-related initiatives across the organization. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong safety culture while ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role supporting a large hourly workforce.
Work Environment
- Fully onsite
- Monday–Friday, standard business hours
- Individual contributor (no direct reports)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Promote and enforce safety standards across all levels of the organization
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
- Lead safety training initiatives, including onboarding, ongoing education, and emergency response procedures
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain accurate safety records and track key performance metrics
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in safety practices
- Ensure proper maintenance, inspection, and safe operation of equipment and workplace environments
- Monitor compliance with all applicable safety laws and regulations
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in safety management or a related role
- Experience supporting a large hourly workforce
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards (federal, state, and local)
- Experience conducting accident investigations and writing detailed reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, First Aid, CPR)
