A 267-bed community hospital in Fort Walton Beach, FL is seeking a Director of Trauma Program. The facility is home to an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, a Cancer Care Center, open-heart surgery services, a main emergency room, a pediatric ER, and two freestanding ERs. This is a Level II Trauma Center.
The role. Reporting to the COO and overseeing a team of 8 FTEs, the Director of Trauma Program leads all operational aspects of the facility's trauma program across the full care continuum. The director is responsible for strategic planning around optimal trauma patient care, coordinating efforts between local and regional trauma systems, and managing the verification and re-verification processes for the Trauma Center. A key focus of the role is monitoring clinical processes, outcomes, and system issues to drive quality improvement — including developing quality filters, audits, and case reviews to identify trends and events, and designing the trauma registry to support performance improvement activities and research. The director also develops processes for monitoring and improving the financial performance and resource utilization of the Trauma Center.
