We are seeking a Director, Resource Management to join our Research and Preclinical Development (RpD) function, providing strategic resource management and planning across current programs and the future development portfolio. In this role, you will serve as the key liaison across RpD functions, supervising and coaching two resource managers while driving capacity planning, forecasting, and insight-driven decision-making.

  • Location: Tarrytown, NY, Warren, NJ, Cambridge, MA

  • Travel percentage: Up to 20%

Discover your role:

  • Serve as the key point of contact for RpD functional resource strategy, assessing available resources against requirements and confirming plans with functional leadership

  • Partner with stakeholders to keep target, project, and program assumptions current and optimize resource utilization

  • Design, develop, and update algorithms within the resource management tool to drive demand forecasting

  • Direct other resource managers across functional areas to ensure cross-functional consistency in resource and headcount management

  • Support partner functions with annual headcount planning and quarterly budget reforecast data quality

  • Deliver regular and ad-hoc resource reports - demand forecasts, capacity, gap analyses, and FTE planned vs. actuals - that inform clear decision-making

  • Act as subject matter expert in resource management for targets, assets, programs, and studies

  • Conduct portfolio and program-level scenario analyses, modeling the impact of changing assumptions on resource estimates

  • Proactively identify and communicate resource-related gaps, issues, and risks, supporting resolution of conflicts across partner functions

This role requires:

  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience in Biotech/Pharmaceutical/CRO across Research, Early, and Late Development functional areas (Master's/MBA with 10+ years may be considered)

  • Expert-level proficiency with Planisware for project planning and resource forecasting, including the design, development, and implementation of algorithms

  • Solid understanding of the drug discovery and development process, with emphasis on preclinical development, translational medicine, and early development for biological molecules

  • Extensive experience with business-facing resource management reporting in R&D

  • Strong analytical, budgeting, and resource-balancing skills, with sound judgment in ambiguous, fast-moving situations

  • Experience supervising, coaching, and mentoring direct reports

  • Preferred: proven track record building insight-driven dashboards in partnership with IT teams
