The purpose of this position is to provide students with knowledge and leadership skills outside of the classroom, to complement the education received inside the classroom. Supervise, manage, and plan programming, and training activities that aid in the development of the whole student, and assist with retention efforts. Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the Student Life Office as well as all preregistration and new student orientation activities.
Essential Job Duties
Serve as advisor to the SGA Executive Cabinet, Senate, and Freshman Forum. Oversee SGA elections, activities, and meetings.
Advise University Programs Council, and book artists and entertainment.
Oversee the advising of the National Panhellenic Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the Interfraternity Council.
Provide leadership and direction to the Greek Community and their advisors. Coordinate and oversee recruitment activities for all three councils.
Monitor SGA, Student Life, UPC, and student organization budgets and provide signatory authority.
Provide programming, entertainment, and leadership training for students.
Oversee student organizations.
Maintain and update digital signage.
Serve as building manager for Farmer Hall and oversee the Game Room.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee all preregistration and new student orientation activities.
Coordinate and oversee all orientation leader selection, training, payment, and management.
Serve on DSA emergency duty as required.
Provide leadership, evaluate, and supervise direct reports in performing duties as charged.
Provide budgetary oversight for the department.
Develop, coordinate, and implement departmental unit plans and assist with development and implementation of University strategic plans.
Assist with student retention initiatives.
Serve as a member of the Division of Student Affairs supervisory team and provide insight in issues related to student life, student organizations, Greek life, retention, and orientation.
Provide activity and other reports and data as requested by the chief Student Affairs Officer.
Serve on University committees as assigned.
Partner in a collegial manner with other departments and divisions across the University.

Additional Duties
Update the Student Life website for Panhellenic, SGA, and UPC. Supervise two full- time employees, approximately six game room workers, approximately 15 paid Student Government leaders, and approximately 25 paid orientation leaders.

The educational requirement for this position is: Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Education, Counseling or related field.
