This position with the Lockheed Martin Corporate Government Affairs in Arlington, VA supporting corporate initiatives related to the U.S. Army Fires portfolio.

This position will support various corporate initiatives related to the U.S. Army Fires domain. The Director will be responsible for the leadership and oversight of senior level managers across the entire spectrum or Army programs. This Director will be responsible for being the primary interface among Lockheed Martin and U.S. Army personnel for all Fires areas of interest. Responsible for managing the business Capture/Keep Sold activities of Lockheed Martin Corporation programs for Army and Department of Defense customers in the Fires domains. Develops customer engagement plans and strategies for current and new business opportunities. An understanding of U.S. Government acquisition, budgeting, and requirements processes is essential and familiarity with the science and technology communities to better integrate their research & development efforts with ours will be beneficial.

The individual will collaborate with counterparts at appropriate levels both external to and internal to Lockheed Martin. The individual assists Lockheed Martin Business areas as required with customer perspectives and assessments. The individual coordinates meetings/discussions among Lockheed Martin and service personnel at the management and leadership level. The individual serves on capture/color teams and in strategy sessions as necessary to maximize the win prospects for competed programs. This government affairs expert will explore new markets for research and development ventures to assist in expanding company product line growth. Responsible for recommending to the LM BAs customer interface opportunities, messaging and frequency of visits; ensures customer access during the shaping and capture phase as well as keep sold. The individual will help develop Competitor Intelligence in the community. This individual will be required to coordinate programs across lines of business and government agencies and to participate in a number of strategy developments and review sessions.

Preferred candidates will have extensive, recent and relevant knowledge of Army Fires domains and government requirements, budget, acquisition and test processes. Preferred candidate will have current/recent experience in Army G3 and G8 staff responsibilities. Demonstrated leadership abilities required.

Manages the company''s federal and/or state legislative and regulatory affairs with elected officials and government officials in regulatory and other agencies and their respective staffs. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Monitors the company''s product line is reflected to best advantage and lobbying activities are successfully pursued. Monitors progress of legislative and regulatory issues of interest to the company and provides analysis to company official. Oversees the development of strategy for and visits elected government and regulatory officials to advise them of company issues. Insures that work is done with designated trade and business associations on political, legislative and regulatory issues of importance to the company.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of Army Fires experience and at least 2+ years recent experience on the Headquarters Department of the Army Staff
• Extensive knowledge of Army Fires requirements.
• Familiarity with DoD and Army budget and acquisition policies and processes.
• Experience in Army G3 and G8 staff responsibilities.
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $195000.00 - $350000.00

• For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
