The Heavy Equipment Operator position operates power-driven machinery used to move dirt or other materials. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman or Site Manager; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently. Essential Qualifications:High school or equivalentMust have a valid TWIC card in handNo per diem availableNCCER is preferable but not necessaryRequires DISA background check and DISA drug testGeneral knowledge of civil construction and excavationGeneral knowledge of maintaining level grade at defined elevationsPost offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband PolicyComply with company and client job site safety requirementsMust not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplaceFunctional Requirements:Moves hand and foot levers to control diesel, electric, gasoline or steam-powered operating equipment; interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed; reads and interprets load charts; may assemble or disassemble equipment or material on construction projects; may be required to manipulate equipment on un-level working surfaces; may perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and oiling machines/equipment.CompensationFinal agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
