Herschend is seeking a motivated Dishwasher to work along the team and support operations for our newest hospitality venture, Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel, located in the heart of Downtown Nashville.  The ideal candidate brings a spirit of fun, authenticity, collaboration, creativity and genuine hospitality to their life and work.

Our Dishwasher will assist in maintaining kitchen cleanliness and sanitation, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment; cleaning and sanitizing workstations, floors, and kitchen surfaces; disposing of trash and recycling; restocking clean supplies as needed; and supporting the kitchen team to ensure smooth culinary operations.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Reports to the Sous Chef or lead cook to receive daily objectives and assignments. 
• Handles and properly stores company assets, equipment, and supplies. 
• Washes dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen supplies using ware washers or sinks. 
• Maintains clean, organized, and sanitary workstations, kitchen areas, and equipment. 
• Ensures compliance with all local and federal health and sanitation regulations. 
• Properly stocks and stores food inventory as requested. 
• Performs general kitchen duties as directed, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal. 
• Monitors product and supply levels, adjusting to daily needs and communicating shortages. 
• Participates in daily line-ups and team briefings. 
• Maintains and inspects ware washing equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition. 
• Checks water temperatures and sanitation procedures for proper cleaning. 
• Safely handles cleaning chemicals and detergents, including dish liquids, bleach, degreaser, and oven cleaner. 
• Supports kitchen staff to ensure smooth culinary operations. 
• Displays company values, including patience, respect, honesty, commitment, and teamwork. 
• Promotes a positive team environment and works cooperatively with other employees. 
• Maintains professional appearance, good personal hygiene, and dependable attendance. 
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. 
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required. 
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds (with assistance if needed) and perform tasks such as stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling to store dishes and equipment. 
• Able to tolerate varying temperatures, including hot kitchen and outdoor conditions. 
• Performs other duties as assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age. 

• This position requires a minimum formal education of some high school. 

• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
