The dishwasher’s primary objective is to provide a clean and safe kitchen area for our staff. Must wash and clean

tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. Keep equipment clean and organized.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assumes 100% responsibility for the cleanliness of dishware

• Load, run and unload the industrial dishwasher

• Wash glassware and other implements by hand when necessary

• Handle tableware carefully to minimize breakage and loss

• Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems to the kitchen manager

immediately.

• Monitor dish machine water temperature and chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycle.

• Empty and clean all trash receptacles

• Bag and haul kitchen trash to dumpster.

• Clean food preparation and production areas as required

• Rotate dishes to reduce wear and tear on resources

• Clean dish storage

• Provide assistance to prep cook and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times

• Perform opening, closing and side work

• Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately

• Follow sanitation policies at all times

• Report any mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sanitation or janitorial issues to appropriate parties

Qualifications

• Must posses a positive attitude and work well with other team members

• Be able to work positively under pressure in a fast paced time sensitive restaurant environment

• No experience necessary, but must be willing to train.

• Must be able to work unsupervised

• Excellent critical thinking and time management skills

• Ability to operate industrial machinery and frequently carry loads up to 20 lbs

• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Must be willing to work in hot, humid environment and on your feet for 7-8-hour shifts

• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.

• Be willing to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed.
