Responsible for clean dishes, kitchen and food preparation equipment, and utensils. Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand. Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.Essential FunctionsWashes/cleans all pots, pans, dishes, silverware, glassware, utensil and other kitchen equipment.Separates all silverware, glassware and utensils and stores in proper area.Operate dishwasher and kitchen equipment.Empty and clean trash receptacles. Clean dish storage areas.Sweeps and mops all floors, walk-ins, and other areas as directed.Provide assistance to prep cook and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times. Helps in daily production of peeling carrots, potatoes, onions, shallots, garlic and any other basic food item as directed.Perform opening, closing and side work. Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately.Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to appropriate party.Keeps his/her station clean and organized at all times and ensures proper sanitation policies are followed. Up to date with sanitation certification and safety procedures. Communicates any issues with supervisors.Help set up or break down employee café as directed and/or other areas required.Cooperate fully with the Executive Chef and other chefs and cooks.Performs position with high standards, integrity and in a timely and efficient manner.Maintaining impeccable personal hygiene, as well as, high work and safety standards in the workplace.Assisting with any setup duties prior to shifts.Adhere to all service standards. Maintain neat appearance and courteous manner.Punctuality and a good attendance record are expected. Assist other production areas when time permits.Helps in banquet production and plating.Perform any other duties and/or tasks assigned by management.Knowledge, skills and abilities Must have knowledge of commonly used practices and procedures within a kitchen setting.Working knowledge of kitchen and dishwasher equipment.Respond to member and inquiries in a courteous and friendly manner.Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and verbal communication skills. Must possess excellent organizational skills and complete tasks as instructed. Must maintain high performance standards.Ability to deal with routine changes often. Ability to work in a fast paced environment.Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs required.Able to work under hot and stressful kitchen conditions.Education and experiencePrevious experience as a dishwasher or steward preferred but not required.Knowledge of food and sanitation regulations/policies.
