About the role:

Denver, CO

We are looking for a Distribution Automation Engineer (IVVO/FLISR) to support utility distribution automation projects focused on improving system reliability, voltage optimization, and service restoration capabilities. We offer a high likelihood of converting to a full-time employee position.

This is a hybrid position with an onsite schedule Tuesday through Thursday and remote work on Monday and Friday. You will report to the Distribution Automation Engineering team manager. You will support IVVO and FLISR programs by deploying, configuring, testing, and integrating automated field devices such as capacitor bank controllers, reclosers, protection devices, and advanced metering systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support IVVO (Integrated Volt/VAR Optimization) and FLISR (Fault Location, Isolation & Service Restoration) programs.
• Configure, program, and deploy automated field devices including capacitor bank controllers, reclosers, and protection devices.
• Perform distribution system modeling and studies to determine device settings and locations.
• Support integration and testing of field devices with Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS).

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering discipline.

• 2 or more years of experience supporting electric utility, power systems, distribution operations, or automation systems.

• Experience with:

• Eaton Cooper Capacitor Bank Controllers

• SEL Protection Devices

• Distribution Automation Technologies

• Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS)

• Familiarity with distribution system modeling tools such as:

• Synergi

• CYME

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $38.00/hour to $42.00/hour.
