What You'll Do

As a Distribution Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing, planning, inventory management, and vendor relationship activities that support customer fulfillment and strategic inventory growth.

Key responsibilities include:

• Analyze inventory levels and purchasing trends to optimize stock availability.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and manufacturers.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and sourcing opportunities.
• Manage direct-line supplier relationships, including ordering, stock levels, returns, credits, and new product introductions.
• Research and identify new products, vendors, and sourcing opportunities.
• Generate and manage purchase orders to support customer demand and inventory requirements.
• Resolve discrepancies involving pricing, lead times, and part numbers.
• Expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery performance.
• Support Sales by sourcing products and providing RFQ assistance.
• Review product content, pricing, and advertising information to ensure accuracy.
• Contribute to profitability, inventory growth, and fulfillment performance goals.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience, at least 1-3 years of customer service experience preferred.
• Technical or industrial product knowledge is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other business systems.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
• Experience within industrial distribution, manufacturing, MRO, or automation environments.
• Knowledge of technical or industrial products.
• Experience working with ERP or inventory management systems.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is$70,000 - $80,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and overall qualifications. In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentive opportunities where applicable.
