DISTRIBUTION MANAGER

Job Location: Bridgton, ME

Schedule: 8am-5 pm or 9am-6 pm (based on business demands; some overtime required)

Pay: $28-$32/hr/ bi weekly pay

Overview:

The Distribution manager's responsibilities include managing daily logistic operations, ensuring timely and efficient product delivery, and optimizing distribution processes. As a Distribution Manager, you will lead a team of distribution staff, coordinate with various departments, and implement strategies to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

· Oversee daily distribution operations, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of products.

· Develop and implement distribution strategies to optimize logistics and reduce costs.

· Manage and mentor a team of distribution staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

· Foster a positive, collaborative work environment promoting teamwork and high morale.

· Conduct regular team meetings to communicate distribution goals, updates, and feedback.

· Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

· Promote a safety culture by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety inspections.

· Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and company policies.

· Coordinate with production and customer service departments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

· Address and resolve any distribution-related customer issues promptly and effectively.

· Prepare and maintain accurate records of distribution activities, including daily reports, shipment logs, and performance metrics.

· Communicate distribution status and any issues to senior management regularly.

· Ensure compliance with DOT laws and regulations.

· Optimize shipping routes and negotiate with common carriers.

· Oversee and manage vehicle maintenance of our company fleet.

· Assist with bi-annual plant inventories.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

CDL driving experience preferred

Proven experience as a Dispatch Manager or a similar position.

Solid knowledge of logistics procedures and supply chain management.

Proficiency in using logistics software for workflow organization.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Active listener with the capacity for multitasking and critical thinking.

Familiarity with DOT regulations and standards.

Ability to oversee capacity planning and scheduling for various work order types.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
