Job Description
Technical Solutions Inc. is seeking a Document Control Specialist on behalf of our client, a premier engineering company located in the Pittsburgh area.
Summary
An Engineering Document Control Specialist manages, organizes, and maintains technical drawings, specifications, project records, and change notices to ensure compliance, accuracy, and smooth workflows across engineering and capital projects.
Core Responsibilities
- Document Management & Lifecycles: Receive, review, store, and distribute technical files, including blueprints, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), piping isometrics, and specifications.
- System & Metadata Administration: Maintain Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) and platforms such as SharePoint and Windchill. Experience with Procore is preferred.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in engineering documentation management, PLM, or document control within manufacturing, construction, energy, or industrial sectors.
Software Proficiency
- Familiarity with CAD tools, such as AutoCAD, and engineering software management tools, preferably Procore, along with Microsoft Office Suite.
Key Competencies
- Strong attention to detail, technical comprehension of engineering drawings, and communication skills to train staff and resolve workflow bottlenecks.
