DoW Skillbridge - Skilled Technician Opportunity

Cummins will consider any Active Duty member that is eligible for the DoW SkillBridge program however, for immediate consideration, Cummins is looking for Military members to fill the following roles:

• Machining, Manufacturing, Electrician, Machine Repair and much more.

Competencies:

Cummins DoW SkillBridge criteria:

• Must be a current Active Duty Servicemember

• Must be separating from the Military in 4-12 months

• Must be able to complete a minimum of 8 weeks and up to a maximum of 6 months SkillBridge internship

• Must be able to complete 40 hours per week

• Willingness to learn from others on the job

Requirements

• Active military service member participating in the SkillBridge program with a strong interest in Mechanical or Electrical work.

• Hands-on mechanical or electrical background is highly preferred.

• Basic knowledge of engine diagnostics, vehicle maintenance procedures, and mechanical systems repair.

• Familiarity with manufacturing operations and equipment is advantageous.

• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately; strong mechanical knowledge required.

• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.

• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and operate machinery safely; excellent attention to safety protocols is essential.

• Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service and teamwork.

This non-paid internship provides an exceptional opportunity for transitioning service members to apply and strengthen their military skills in a civilian manufacturing equipment repair environment. Through hands-on experience, mentorship, and skill development, participants gain valuable industry knowledge and practical expertise, setting them up for long-term career success in the manufacturing and equipment repair field.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Minimal or no work experience required.

This is a military transitional program that does not provide compensation through Cummins. If selected for full-time employment with Cummins upon completion of SkillBridge you will be eligible for: base salary rate commensurate with experience.
