First-year earning potential: $45,000–$55,000, including performance bonusesPaid Training • Comprehensive Benefits • Established Local Company
Bring the work ethic. We’ll provide the training.
You’re ready to work hard, earn your own money, and build skills you can be proud of. You just need an opportunity—and a company willing to invest in you.
At Pat Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electric, we’re hiring a Drain Technician with strong character, a dependable work ethic, and the desire to learn.
No experience necessary. We’ll teach you how to perform residential drain and sewer service, operate and maintain your equipment, and take great care of our customers.
What do you bring? Honesty. Kindness. Effort. The willingness to listen, show up on time, and follow through.
Whether you’re finishing high school, starting your first career, or looking for a fresh direction, we want to meet you.
Get paid to learn. Build confidence. Do work that matters.
We’ve served Topeka-area homeowners since 2005. You’ll join an established local company with an experienced team, a broad range of home services, and a commitment to building lasting customer relationships.
You’ll receive paid training and support as you learn. You’ll build confidence by doing the work, applying feedback, and seeing what you can accomplish.
Your primary focus will be drain and sewer service. From time to time, you may also help our plumbing, heating, air conditioning, or electrical teams on other jobs under their direction. Those assignments offer exposure to other areas of home service while you develop in your drain technician role.
Make a difference someone can see
When a homeowner has a backed-up drain or sewer, they need someone who cares and knows what to do next.
You’ll learn how to restore flow, explain the next step, and coordinate with our camera technician so the homeowner can get answers about the problem.
You’ll also take ownership of your machines and tools—keeping them inspected, clean, organized, and ready for the next customer.
At the end of the day, you’ll know who you helped and what you accomplished.
What the work looks like
This is active, hands-on work. You’ll move equipment, use stairs, work in basements, and deal with dirty drains and sewer backups. Some days will be messy, and some jobs will test your persistence.
You’ll have safety training, clear procedures, and experienced teammates to turn to for help. Independent work comes as you demonstrate you’re ready.
Your responsibilities will include:
The kind of person we’re looking for
You don’t need previous trade experience to demonstrate these qualities. You may have built them through school, sports, another job, helping your family, or taking responsibility when someone needed you.
Pay, benefits, and support
First-year earning potential includes base pay and performance bonuses. Actual earnings vary. Benefits are subject to eligibility.
