Drilling Technician 3rd Shift

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate numerical-control drilling machines to drill holes into printed circuit boards according to specifications.
• Load program files containing programmed commands into the machine or enter commands to retrieve programmed control data.
• Review setup instructions, blueprints, and work orders to determine drilling requirements and machine settings.
• Load and unload PCB panels onto drilling machines, ensuring proper alignment and securing.
• Maintain drill bits, replacing worn or damaged ones to ensure optimal performance and hole quality.
• Monitor the drilling process to ensure the quality of holes.
• Perform quality control checks using measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with drilling equipment or processes.
• Maintain and clean drilling equipment regularly.
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient production flow.
• Maintain accurate records of production output, machine settings, and quality inspection results.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce defects.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferably experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in using measuring tools and equipment.
• Basic computer skills for operating machine controls.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
