About the Role:Bridge Community Development Center Mississippi is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Driver to join our IDD Day Program team in Cleveland, MS. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing safe, reliable transportation and a friendly face every day.
Responsibilities:- Safely transport IDD program participants to and from the day program facility and community destinations
- Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing wheelchairs or mobility devices as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning program vehicle at all times
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns
- Follow established routes and schedules while adapting to participant needs
- Communicate effectively with program staff regarding participant status, incidents, or concerns
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and agency policies
Requirements:- Valid Mississippi driver's license with a clean driving record
- Experience transporting individuals with IDD, disabilities, or special needs preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Patient, compassionate, and dependable demeanor
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate wheelchair lifts and secure adaptive equipment is a plus
