Job Summary:
The Driver/Appliance Installer is responsible for the safe delivery, installation, and basic servicing of household appliances at customer locations. This role combines driving responsibilities with hands-on technical work and customer interaction. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to providing a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a company delivery vehicle in compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation laws.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload appliances such as refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and ovens.
- Install and connect appliances according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Perform basic testing to ensure proper functionality after installation.
- Provide customers with instructions on appliance use and care.
- Remove and properly dispose of or relocate old appliances as needed.
- Maintain delivery logs, installation records, and required documentation.
- Inspect equipment and report any vehicle or product issues promptly.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment.
- Deliver professional, courteous customer service at all times.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and move heavy appliances (often 50–100+ lbs) with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous delivery or installation experience is a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of heavy items.
- Regular bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs.
- Work in indoor and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
- Driving for extended periods.
