Shipping Clerk – 1st ShiftLocation: 1150 Maple St., Elma NY 14059
Shift: 1st Shift
Position Summary: We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to support daily shipping and warehouse operations in a fast-paced dry warehouse environment. This position is responsible for coordinating shipments, processing customer orders, communicating with carriers, and maintaining accurate inventory records. Education/Prerequisite Requirements: - Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
Equipment/Training Knowledge:- Protean Inventory System
- Barcode Inventory Scanner System
- Microsoft Word and Excel
- Basic math and computer skills
Schedule: Monday - Friday, weekends and overtime when needed Key Responsibilities:- Support and follow all food safety and quality standards
- Input customer orders and generate pick slips
- Coordinate inbound and outbound trucks with security/guard shack
- Sign drivers in and out and manage driver documentation
- Reserve and process shipments in internal systems (e.g., Protean)
- Verify product, case counts, and code dates
- Ensure product is approved and released for shipment
- Create and distribute Bills of Lading (BOLs)
- Schedule carrier appointments and coordinate shipping timelines
- Develop and manage daily shipping schedules, including direct shipments and transfers
- Coordinate transportation and product movement with off-site warehouses
- Request product transfers to fulfill customer orders
- Release and track inventory across storage locations
- Enter shipment data into applicable systems (SAP and other platforms as needed)
- Monitor and reconcile inventory; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Process and complete shipment billing and transfers
- Maintain accurate records and provide documentation to Accounting
- Support pallet tracking and inventory reporting as needed
Qualifications:- Previous shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with shipping or inventory systems is a plus
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- High school diploma or GED preferred
