DVM Marketing Specialist

Position Summary

The DVM Marketing Specialist position drives medical marketing strategies in support of the animal health initiatives at Pegasus Laboratories.  The role will raise the level of technical fluency, content, and advisory material for the Marketing team. The role will gain technical insights from internal and external partners and share with stakeholders to elevate training and promotional marketing content, including internal and external marketing resources.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for continuing education, medical communications, and publication to drive brand growth and target customer engagement.
• Plan and execute marketing studies, inform life-cycle management, and develop launch strategies for products nearing market entry, and inform and advise marketing team members on the clinical and customer relevant messaging.
• Manage key opinion leaders (KOL) relationships and activities, recruit and develop new KOLs, lead advisory board meetings, and maintain an active speaker's bureau, fostering relationships with veterinary associations and influential organizations.
• Manage key therapeutic portfolio disease specialty relationships with educators and influencers in academia.
• Partner with field sales and professional services teams to create veterinary teaching hospital strategic plans for the growth and awareness of new product introductions and in support of key existing product portfolio.
• Work closely with customer-facing veterinary teams to integrate field intel and customer insights into medical strategy and activities.
• Provide veterinary perspective to project teams within research and development, corporate strategy, regulatory, and senior leaders.
• All other tasks as requested or assigned.

Safety Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in required safety training.
• Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and incidents promptly.

Required Qualifications

• Education:

• Graduate of an AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) accredited program with the corresponding veterinary degree. Licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the United States.

• Experience:

• 8+ years' experience as a practicing veterinarian in companion animal or mixed animal practice (companion animal focus) or residency training in a veterinary specialty.

• 3+ years' experience in a corporate animal health position required.

• Board certification in cardiology or internal medicine highly preferred

• Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to convert detailed, technical data into higher-level strategic initiatives.

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Experience with coordinating post-approval studies.

• Experience working with US scientific influencers (KOLs).

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Travel up to 50% or more, including overnight travel, as business needs require

• Candidates based in Pensacola, FL or Shawnee, KS are strongly preferred and will work from one of our office locations. We will also consider qualified remote candidates who reside near a major metropolitan airport and can travel as business needs require.
