    Description

    Job Summary:

    Services, supports, and maintains electrical equipment within the determined geographical location. Performs electrical preventative maintenance on equipment using the Maximo system.

    Key Responsibilities:

    In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

    • Maintain safe work habits and actions in all aspects of daily tasks by evaluating reactive work for safety issues, planning projects so that safety is key, and reviewing preventative work for unforeseen safety hurdles.
    • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatuses, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdowns and correct problems efficiently.
    • Conform to National Electric Code, NFPA 70E, Cummins Production Equipment Specifications, and applicable international standards to maintain, install, and operate electrical systems 600 volts and below.
    • Plan, install, assemble, and troubleshoot electrical and communication wiring, circuit breakers, equipment, fixtures, and conduit to ensure reliable system performance.
    • Utilize plant electrical distribution knowledge and software systems to support customer needs, prioritize maintenance activities, and manage reactive, planned, preventative, and predictive work.
    • Prepare sketches, notes modifications, and follow blueprints to determine wiring and equipment locations while ensuring conformance to building and safety codes.
    • Communicate technical information to customers, collaborate cross-functionally with support teams, and assist in training department personnel and apprentices.
    • Participate in improvement projects, apply problem-solving techniques, maintain housekeeping and safety standards, remain flexible, and complete work with minimal supervision.

    • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent AND

    • Associate's degree with two-four years of relevant experience OR

    • Trade certificate with six years of relevant experience OR

    • Eight years of relevant experience OR

    • Department of Labor certification.

    • Must pass all related testing. Experience: Associate's degree with two-four years of relevant experience OR Trade certificate with six years of relevant experience OR Eight years of relevant experience OR Department of Labor certification.

    Journeyman Electrician

    The criteria for open positions will be based on geographic area seniority. Where more than one employee has the same geographical area seniority date, seniority will be determined by alphabetical rank of their last name, at the time of hiring.

    All bids and/or de-selection bids must be submitted in MYHR by 7:00 am on POSTING REMOVAL DATE

    Bids arriving late will NOT be honored.

    Successful applicants will move on the 3rd Monday after selections are posted.

    Probationary employees are not eligible to bid on this posting.

    Employees who are successful bidders will not be eligible to bid again for twelve (12) months from the effective move date.

    Employees eligible to be considered under the 24 hour eligibility criteria may bid on job regardless of bid rights, UNLESS that employees has already been a successful candidate on a previous 24 hour bid posting, then the employee is locked in for 12 months and cannot bid on another 24 hour bid posting during those 12 months.

    Third round eligible employees must have previous CMI Support Specialist experience OR provide a resume in MYHR with relevant experience listed for the manager to review prior to POSTING REMOVAL DATE. Candidates must still meet minimum qualifications for the role.

    Employees that are bidding on a position outside of their current geographical area MUST submit a resume in MYHR no later than 7:00 am of the POSTING REMOVAL DATE.
