Job Title: E&I Supervisor
Location: Quincy, MA
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $105,000.00 - $115,000.00
Responsibilities
- Ensure safety is the top priority in all E&I maintenance activities through strict adherence to safe work practices, permitting requirements, and environmental standards.
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of electrical and instrumentation technicians, contractors, and E&I foremen.
- Lead daily E&I scheduling and work prioritization in coordination with Operations, Engineering, and the Senior Maintenance Manager.
- Assign, monitor, and verify completion of preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
- Drive execution and completion of the preventive maintenance (PM) program supporting a 24/7 chemical manufacturing operation.
- Maintain strong field presence to support troubleshooting, work execution, employee coaching, and safety oversight.
- Ensure electrical and instrumentation work is completed safely, efficiently, and with high quality workmanship.
- Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and reliability of plant electrical distribution systems, process instrumentation, analyzers, control systems, and related equipment.
- Support plant control systems and associated infrastructure including DCS, PLC, networked industrial control systems, and related process control equipment.
- Coordinate contractor activities and ensure contractor compliance with site safety and work expectations.
- Support employee development through coaching, training, performance feedback, and accountability.
- Assist with workforce planning, staffing coordination, shift coverage, and resource allocation.
- Work closely with Operations and Engineering to support process troubleshooting, equipment repairs, shutdowns, and plant improvement activities.
- Monitor maintenance backlog, work order completion, labor utilization, and maintenance execution performance.
- Support spare parts identification, inventory coordination, and maintenance material planning as needed.
- Maintain shop organization, housekeeping, tools, and maintenance standards throughout the facility.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, maintenance execution, safety, and process performance.
- Perform other duties as requested or required based on business needs.
Requirements
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, instrumentation, engineering technology, industrial technology, or related technical field preferred. Equivalent industrial E&I leadership experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial electrical and instrumentation experience required, preferably within chemical manufacturing, refinery, food processing, or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance leadership, supervisory, or maintenance coordination experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, process instrumentation, analyzers, motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), control valves, and industrial control systems required.
- Experience supporting DCS, PLC, process controls, and industrial network infrastructure preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate maintenance activities, prioritize work, manage resources, and support execution within a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and employee development skills required.
- Experience coordinating contractors, maintenance planning activities, and maintenance scheduling preferred.
- Working knowledge of CMMS/SAP systems and Microsoft Office applications required.
- Massachusetts electrical license preferred.
- Working knowledge of industrial safety requirements including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, electrical safety, line breaking, and contractor safety management required.
