EDM Machinist / CNC Machine Operator

Location: Farmington, CT

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Shifts Available:

• 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM

• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

• Both shifts require training on 1st shift for approximately one month.

Pay Range:

• CNC machine operators with relevant experience: Up to $30/hour

• Experienced EDM operators: Up to $35/hour

Position Overview

A family-run manufacturing shop in Farmington, CT is looking for experienced EDM operators and CNC machine operators to join its team. The company manufactures precision aerospace components for major suppliers and offers a hands-on work environment with opportunities to work on specialized equipment.

This role involves operating Makino EDM machines with Fanuc controls, including fast-hole EDM equipment. Candidates should have experience operating CNC equipment, be comfortable running multiple machines at once, and understand G-code and M-code.

Responsibilities

• Operate Makino EDM machines with Fanuc controls, including fast-hole EDM equipment.

• Run multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining quality and production standards.

• Load and secure fixtures and parts for machining.

• Monitor machine operation and ensure parts meet specifications.

• Read and understand G-code and M-code.

• Follow work instructions and maintain a safe, organized work area.

• Complete work according to production schedules and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous EDM operating experience preferred.

• CNC machine operating experience will also be considered.

• Knowledge of G-code and M-code required.

• Ability to load fixtures and operate multiple machines at once.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.

• Aerospace manufacturing experience is a plus.
