Were seeking certified SPECIAL EDUCATION (SPED), ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE
GRADES, or SECONDARY EDUCATION TEACHERS to design engaging lessons.

Job Duties:
- Teaches all subjects to students who have not completed full academic
achievement, potentially through K-12; when required, provides Special
Education services
- Appropriately implements teacher-designed lesson plans and exhibits
collaboration between classroom and Special Education teachers for the
benefit of students
- Accesses students' progress and develops an appropriate education
plan
- Develops and corrects diagnostic tests, maintains educational records,
and provides the unit with monthly work evaluations
- Maintains records of student performance and uses them to guide
instructional decisions
- Maintains the security of all testing instruments
- Consults with highly qualified teachers on subject matter concerns or
questions
- Teaches various subjects and includes learning experiences appropriate
for curriculum goals that are based on principles of effective
instruction
- Creates and maintains a positive learning environment using effective
classroom management techniques
- Escorts and supervises inmates in the education building/classroom
- Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborates with colleagues to achieve Department and Education
Bureau goals
- Engages in professional development and maintains required
certifications
- Continually adapts to improve instruction and student learning
- Attends required training sessions and meetings
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Pre-Employment Requirements:
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited
college or university.
Requires a current, valid Arizona Department of Education (ADE) Teaching
Certificate in the approved area of Elementary or Secondary
Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Card
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background
investigation, a drug test, and possibly a medical/physical
examination.

Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess
and retain a current, valid class-appropriate drivers license, complete
all required training, and successfully pass all necessary drivers
