    Description

    MGS has an exciting opportunity for an EHS Intern to join our team. As an EHS Intern, you will assist and support the EHS Team with the development, deployment and continuous improvement of programs and systems that support environmental, health and safety excellence at the Germantown & Richfield Manufacturing facility. The EHS Internship program is intended to introduce college-level students to MGS and the world of EHS within a plastic injection molding & cleanroom manufacturing environment. Student interns will engage in a part-time internship opportunity in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. The EHS Intern will be partnered with an EHS Specialist as their primary mentor for the Internship opportunity.

    The EHS Intern will be coached on office and communication etiquette and will meet with their assigned MGS mentor at least weekly to discuss projects and questions. The EHS Intern will have direct exposure to senior leadership team members and will be expected to complete a final report out to the MGS leadership team at the conclusion of their internship.

    Below are additional duties and responsibilities:

    • Review and analyze reports of accidents and near-miss occurrences to make recommendations that help prevent reoccurrences. Identify, implement and monitor the effectiveness of any corrective / preventative actions that may be taken to prevent reoccurrence.
    • Work closely with all levels of management to promote safe manufacturing practices, procedures, and proper use of equipment and facilities, responding appropriately to any concerns raised by team members in relation to EHS in the plant.
    • Coordinate, prepare and deliver EHS training for employees; both internal and external as required.
    • Organize and participate in safety team activities.
    • Conduct internal EHS audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
    • Assist in setting, monitoring and presenting EHS metrics.
    • Assist or lead the efforts of designated projects such as chemical inventory, LOTO & machine guard auditing and more.
    • Assist with CI projects to gather data and feedback and develop deployment plans.
    • Any other duties as assigned.

    Required Experience:

    A qualified EHS Intern candidate would fulfill these requirements:

    • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health or equivalent is required.
    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
