This role is responsible for overseeing electrical, instrumentation, and controls (EI&C) design deliverables from conceptual development through detailed engineering while ensuring quality, schedule, and budget expectations are met.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with extensive experience managing design teams, coordinating project deliverables, and developing innovative electrical design solutions in fast-paced engineering environments.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of drafting and design personnel to ensure project schedules and milestones are achieved.
    • Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to develop estimates for complete design packages and allocate resources effectively.
    • Prioritize and manage drafting workloads across multiple projects and stakeholders.
    • Develop and review complex electrical layouts, cable tray systems, 3D models, and other design deliverables from conceptual design through detailed engineering.
    • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety requirements, and client specifications.
    • Produce and review electrical design packages using CAD software and provide technical guidance to junior designers.
    • Maintain project controls, documentation, and records in accordance with company and client requirements.
    • Identify opportunities to improve design quality, simplify processes, and reduce rework.
    • Review and approve design deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards.
    • Evaluate and implement design technologies and CAD-based efficiency tools to improve productivity.
    • Mentor and develop less-experienced designers while fostering a collaborative team environment.

    Qualifications

    • Associate's degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or a related field required; bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of electrical design experience, preferably within industrial, energy, or oil and gas environments.
    • At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience managing drafting or design teams.
    • Strong proficiency with industry-standard software, including:
    • AutoCAD
    • Revit
    • MicroStation
    • AutoCAD Electrical
    • Other relevant CAD platforms
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within established budgets and schedules.
    • Experience working independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.

    Preferred Experience

    • Background supporting oil and gas, utility, industrial, or energy infrastructure projects.
    • Experience developing 3D models, electrical layouts, and cable tray designs.
    • Knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and safety requirements related to electrical and instrumentation design.

    What You'll Bring

    • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    • Ability to mentor teams and drive continuous improvement.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • A proactive mindset focused on delivering successful project outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced design professional looking to lead a high-performing team while contributing to large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects. Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth are available.

Can be located across the US.
