Election Equipment Technician (Ballot Processing Specialist): (# 5-10 openings)
Services would start on or about 41 days before each Election Day and end on or about 21 days after each Election Day, seven (7) days a week.
1. Pre-LAT (Logic and Accuracy Testing) of electronic voting equipment. For Pre-LAT, basic computer skills are required and responsibilities include;
a. Sealing and packing election equipment
b. Recording seal numbers on the official Seal Accountability Form
c. Field Technicians supporting approximately 17-40 precincts per assignment cycle
2. Load voter registration data into Electronic Poll Book (EPB) devices and test those devices;
3. Load election data on to touch-screen voting devices and test the unit to correct results; 4. 4. Load data and test ballot scanners to ensure correct results;
5. Test to make sure that all ballots from touchscreen voting device and preprinted ballots are run through ballot scanner device and are accurately transmitted successfully;
6. Change paper rolls on the Ballot scanners;
7. Resetting the touchscreen and Electronic Poll Book to Election Mode, and the Ballot Scanner to show a zero;
8. Packing equipment and making sure all items are included; 9. Setup and take down- duties will require lifting of up to 60 lbs. and include:
a. Set up, open, plug in and turn on touchscreen voting devices, electronic poll book, printers and ballot scanners.
b. Take down all units and transport them from the Pre- LAT area to the ESCs.
c. Electronic Poll book, Ballot Scanner, Printer and TouchScreen final check. Duties require lifting of up to 60 lbs., extended walking and standing over an extended period of time.
d. Check touchscreens and E-Poll book to insure they are in "election " mode, having the proper date and time, and checking the scanners for a zero (0) tape.
e. Place touchscreen voting devices, E-Pollbook, printers and ballot scanners into ESC.
Ballot Prep. Duties: Require light-to-moderate manual labor involving 20-30 lb. boxes of paper ballots, including unboxing, separating, shrink-wrapping, checking off and distributing to corresponding ESC
Need Computer knowledge: This role may include some data-entry work.
Personnel Conduct Requirements (For all the jobs add this 4 jobs)
1. Workers are allowed to wear casual attire. Jeans, knee-length shorts, work boots and gym shoes are acceptable. Personnel assigned to work on the Dock or pushing ESC's are required to wear steel-toe boots. No political rhetoric or profanity on clothing, ripped jeans, open-toe shoes, or Crocs.
2. Smoking is permitted ONLY outside the facility located at 1819 West Temporary Staffing Central Office Headquarters & Warehouse RFP Pershing Street and must occur at least 15 feet away from the entrance.
3. Workers are not allowed to have mobile devices on their person while on the production floor. This includes the use of headphones or Bluetooth devices,
4. Workers are not allowed to sleep in the Warehouse at any time.
5. Workers should only eat and drink in designated areas. Never on the production floor.
6. The manager and assistant manager will be providing employee schedules.
