Possessio n and reten tion of a va lid Del awar e veh icle oper ator's license an d Class B CDL (Mini mum ) is requir ed. Valid Medical Examiner's C ertificate is re quired. Mus t pas s pre-employmen t testin g for substan ce abus e, crimin al back ground, moto r veh icle driv er's licen se history , and a pre-employ ment physic al. Subje ct to rando m drug and alcohol testing accordi ng to City policy. Must live within 40 minutes of the Public Works Facility and work scheduled On-Call Duty. Supe rvision Received : Work is performed under the gener al super vision of the Electric Line Supervisor. Essentia l Job Functions : An employee in this position m ay be called upon to do any or all of the following essential dutie s: A.Install, m aintain and repair low and high voltage lines un der the direc tion/super visionof the Electric Line Supervisor.B.Oper ate aerial tower and line tr uck.C.Install tr ansformer banks and wire up, both pr imary and secon dary (under directsuper vision).D.Install, rep air and replace cross a rms, insulato rs, transformers, lightnin g arrestors , etc.E. Make primary term inations from unde rground cables.F.Perform requ ired line work on ener gized and de ener gized circuits.G.Install all types of switch g ear on d istribu tion system.H. Tree tr immi ng around power l ines for l ine maintena nce.I. Work sch eduled on call duties and assis ts with a variety of electri cal emergen cyproblems; all li ve primary work wil l be super vised by a Fi rst Class Electric LineTechnician or ab ove.J.Install and maintain meters.K.Perfo rms o ther du ties, within City departments, as assigned by management.
