• Pay Rate: $25.00 $27.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: 9/80 schedule eligible after 2 months

Job Summary

The Electrical CAD Technician will assist technical teams of detailers, designers, and engineers to create world-class detail on a variety of projects. This position will assist in developing computer-aided drafting design solutions. All openings are "doer" positions looking for hands-on contributors rather than managers. The role will support utility system reliability projects, with project work including both residential and commercial electrical distribution design.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.
• Assist with preparing and revising plot drawings.
• Responsible for adhering to company and client drafting standards and procedures.
• Responsible for adhering to the drafting practices of selected discipline.
• Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.
• Assist with tasks utilizing standard drafting detail programs.
• Assist in continuous drafting detail improvement efforts.
• Research solutions to project concerns and recommend solutions to design problems.
• May assist with RFIs (Requests for Information) and provide input on project schedules.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

Required Skills

• Must have AutoCAD experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner; aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

Preferred Skills

• CAD background with some experience in GIS preferred.
• Specialized CAD certification preferred.
• Utility mapping/GIS background.
• Experience with electrical drafting and distribution utility projects.

Education Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma/GED required.
• Coursework in drafting technology required.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Position is 100% onsite; no hybrid or remote work.
• Candidate must be located in or willing to work from the Albuquerque, NM or Phoenix, AZ office.
