Electrical Construction Estimator

Oxford Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Estimator to support bidding and preconstruction activities for new construction and renovation projects. This role requires a strong background in electrical estimating, including experience with substation systems and related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects, including new installations and renovation work
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents
• Develop material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates
• Use McCormick electrical estimating software or a comparable estimating platform
• Evaluate project risks, assumptions, exclusions, and potential cost-saving opportunities
• Solicit and analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Support bid preparation, proposal development, and estimate handoffs to project teams
• Maintain accurate estimating records and historical cost information

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered
• Minimum of 5 years of electrical construction estimating experience
• Experience estimating both new construction and renovation projects
• Working knowledge of electrical substations and associated technologies
• Familiarity with GIS, AIS, and STATCOM systems
• Experience with McCormick estimating software strongly preferred; similar electrical estimating software will be considered
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
